Cycling: Swiss "Schoggi"-Tour

The sweetest bicycle tour of Switzerland

This bike tour is all about the sweetest temptation that Switzerland has to offer. A smooth cycle tour on the shores of Lake Zurich starts your cycling week.

First stop is the world-famous chocolate factory of Lindt & Sprüngli. Afterwards you visit the monastery of Einsiedeln and continue your trip with a challenging ascend up on Ibergeregg pass which will be rewarded with a fantastic downhill towards lake Lucerne. From here you will continue to the cherries of Zug and finally the sun will shine on your face all the way along the coast of the Lake of Zurich– as it should be on a bike tour for connoisseurs.

Tour character

A route for people who know how to enjoy themselves. Perfectly marked and signed bike trails lead you through the most beautiful sceneries of central Switzerland. The route is almost continuously paved and often leads on tranquil side roads or designated bike paths. For the ride through the hills of Hirzel and going up the Ibergeregg pass stamina and a good physical condition are required. In cities like Zurich or Lucerne one has to be mindful of traffic.

Well organized and a beautiful route
The travel documents provided helped us better understand the areas we traveled through. The Herzroute had several spectacular views of the Alps. The route went through a variety of farms, countryside, forests and along lakes. Would certainly use Eurotrek again to organize our vacation. One note regarding using the battery recharge stations, some were closed both Monday and Tuesday. This meant on one day we barely made it to our hotel with any charge left on the battery.
