Our 27-gear, Tour de Suisse branded country bike is a robust and comfortable touring bike.

Itinerary
You leave the city and head north, passing through the relatively urban districts of Seebach and Affoltern. The route becomes more rural once you pass the Katzensee lake. Follow the route along the Furtbach brook, which is almost completely flat, to Würenlos – shortly afterwards you’ll reach the cosmopolitan little town of Baden. Return to Zurich by cycling along the river Limmat.
The north-eastern shore of Lake Zurich, known by the locals as “Goldküste”, which means “Gold Coast”, is famous for its picturesque location, its exclusive villas, gardens and its proximity to nature reserves. Vines are grown on the banks of the lake and, in the summer, countless boats can be seen floating leisurely on the water. A little distance away from the lively lakefront, you can cycle along quiet side roads and take in the fabulous views all around you. What’s more, the centre of Rapperswil old town is a real gem and well worth exploring.
Today’s highlight is without doubt the protected Lake Greifen, which you’ll reach by leaving Rapperswil and heading up into the Zurich Oberland. Excellent cycle paths and the unspoilt lakefront make this stage a real pleasure to ride. You’ll then pedal on past Schwamendingen and around the Zürichberg mountain, from where quite a long descent takes you back down to Zurich city centre.
Today begins with a long climb to Oerlikon and Schwamendingen, before you pass the airport tarmac and head via Bülach towards the Rhine. The Thurauen floodplains and the way the river meanders magnificently provide stunning variety. Those interested in culture and history can visit Rheinau Abbey. Finally, we’re sure you’ll be amazed by the Rhine Falls – gigantic volumes of water plunge into the depths here and, in the middle of the thundering waterfall, is a rock that you can climb, if you wish. It’s only accessible by boat, though! A picturesque medieval old town awaits you in beautiful Schaffhausen.
Your day begins with a stop in Andelfingen and its heritage-listed village centre – a true highlight! We also recommend you make a stop in Winterthur as well, though. Affectionately known as Zurich’s little sister, visitors come to this lively little town year on year to experience its vibrant culinary scene. The journey back to Zurich is a leisurely one. The sound of aeroplanes taking off at Zurich Airport heralds your return to the hubbub of city life.
Tour character
The area surrounding Zurich is hilly. You can expect to have to negotiate both major and minor inclines every day. The routes are excellently signposted and easy to ride. Occasionally, however, you’ll encounter some sections on unpaved tracks.
