Cycling: North-South-Route
The North-South Route connects two of the most beautiful cities of Switzerland. It starts at the tripoint in Basel and crosses the Jura mountains to Lucerne. Further through central Switzerland to Altdorf.
Liestal and the Ergolztal: a bustling, self-confident agglomeration. In contrast: tranquility and charming countryside in the Baselbiet Jura. On through Aargau's Jurapark hills, followed by a racy descent down the southern Jura slopes to Aarau.
Aarau – Sursee
From Aarau the way leads to the idyllic Suhrental river valley; with views of the Alps spotted south and Jura chain north. Through rich orchards and fertile fields alongside Lake Sempach, this stage finally takes you to Sursee.
Sursee – Lucerne
Today you cycle to Lucerne. Lake Lucerne is one of Switzerland’s largest and most beautiful lakes. Its many arms link the Mittelland and Alps. When the fierce Föhn wind blows, the lake reveals its wilder side!
After you ride to Beckenried a boatride to Flüelen awaits you. From there you continue your cycling tour to Altdorf where you can learn about the legend of Wilhelm Tell.

The ride over the hills of the Jura and across the Alps is made somewhat easier by the short stages.

Arrival/Departure:
- Arrival by public transport to Liestal. Suitcases to be handed in at the luggage counter by 10:00 a.m. at the latest.
- Departure by public transport from Altdorf. Suitcases will be returned to the luggage counter by 5:00 p.m. at the latest.
Arrival by train:
Leave the car at home! For every bike, biking or hiking tour in Switzerland, you will receive an SBB coupon per participant, which you can use to deduct CHF 10 from the ticket price for traveling by train. The reduction can be obtained in the SBB online store or in the SBB app.
On many trips, we use the luggage counters at the stations at the beginning and at the end to hand over the suitcases. You can conveniently combine this right away when you arrive by train. If you are a GA owner, you can provide this information when booking. We will credit you the amount on the invoice. If you don't need the coupon for the trip itself, you can use it during the year. Unfortunately, a retroactive refund is not possible for administrative reasons.

We reduce the amount of printed documents. You will receive instructions to help you find your way around using the Eurotrek Travel Guide App. We provide you with further information online.
In advance you will receive a small package of documents with the following contents:
- Your travel program
- Luggage tags
- Description of how to use the app
- Any vouchers
The Eurotrek Travel Guide App will help you find your way around. In addition to your digital map, you will find further information about your booked trip. The app is also available offline, simply download the trip in advance.
