Via Alpina, Bear trek

Impressive countryside in the Bernese Alps

Discover Switzerlands most impressive parts. When hiking on the Beartrek you travel a unique route that passes glaciers and spectacular passes. The route “Via Alpina” leads along the three most famous Swiss mountains “Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau” through valleys and canyons to the well known ski-resort Adelboden-Lenk. Most likely you won’t meet any bears on this tour but the route has its name from the time when only game could walk these paths.

Today the trails are in a very good condition but still this tour is not an easy walk. During the course of your hike you reach peaks and summits where the spectacular beauty to the Swiss Alps rewards you for your efforts.

Urner cable car hikes

At the end of Lake Lucerne, you find the canton of Uri, with its mountain valleys and mountain paths. Charming small towns and villages are nestled into a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Gotthard massif.

A special feature of the canton is the high density of cable cars, which are operated by local families and farmers. In little cabins you daily hover into the height and experience walks with wonderful views without having to overcome a lot of altitude.

You walk into the picturesque Isenthal and go up to the Eggberge. After that you walk on the Schächentaler mountain path and visit a typical Alpine dairy in Brunital. This trip shows the Swiss mountains at its best!

Grisons hut trekking

Impressive hike at the Swiss mountainside

Ibex, marmots, picturesque Walser settlements and a few of the most beautiful mountain panoramas in Switzerland. This cottage tour takes you past striking peaks and picturesque valleys through the Grisons mountains.

You start your tour in Davos, the highest town in Europe. After a hike up to the Jakobshorn you walk through the Sertigtal to the famous Kesch Hut. The hike continues to historic Bergün and past the Albula-Pass. Finally, after another night in a cottage you reach the world famous city St. Moritz.

Via Albula & Bernina

Five hikers marvelled at the journey of the Rhaetian Railway over a viaduct in Brusio in the Bernina region in the canton of Graubünden.

The long distance walking trail of Via Albula Bernina leads along the UNESCO world heritage train line of the Rhaetian Rail. It runs as close as possible to the Albula and Bernina line and provides every now and then fascinating views that open out onto the 100 year old work of art in the magnificent alpine landscape.

The first part of this walking trail brings you to Thusis and Albula Valley to Engadine with the world-famous skiing destination St. Moritz. You continue past the Bernina pass to Val Poschiavo and end your trip at the city of Tirano in Italy.

Via Jacobi: Einsiedeln - Interlaken

The pilgrimage to the grave of St. James in Santiago de Compostela is one of the most important spiritual traditions in Europe. As part of the European Jakobsweg (Route of St. James), the ViaJacobi leads along the foot of the Alpine chain from the Bodensee to Genève – right across Switzerland.

Chapels, churches and hostels are strung like pearls along the ViaJacobi and, together with a diverse cultural landscape, offer a fabulous hiking experience..

Hikes in Emmental

The region Emmental is a lovely area: in between the well-known cities Lucerne and Berne meadows and soft hills build a beautiful contrast to the rough peaks of the Swiss Alps. Over small hills the paths lead away from the hectical city life of Lucerne to the “Napf”, the highest peak in the Emmental.

You walk past farms and idyllic villages and along small rivers through silent valleys. At the end of your journey you reach the city Berne, Switzerlands capital.

Jura Crest Trail

The Jura Crest Trail is considered the classic among national long-distance trails. Signalization of the route, starting at Zurich and ending just before Genève, began as early as 1905. It links two major Swiss towns and as the name suggests, leads over the Swiss Jura heights.

This makes a sweeping arc towards the northwest, so those hiking this trail go a little round the bend – and over the language boundary!

The southern part of the Black Forest is a diverse area. Various rivers have its source in this area and have formed countless gorges. You make your way out of the canyon and climb small ridge where you have wonderful views on the close Lake Schluchsee. Your hike then continues to Wehra Valley. Every leg brings you to new gorges and canyons and these make your hiking week in the Black Forest both challenging and diverse.
