You ride along river Rhône towards the valley of Goms. As soon as you’ve reached the village Ulrichen you tackle the first uphill. The street winds it’s way up to the top of the Nufenenpass (2’478 m).
Now a swift downhill brings you towards the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. Change of difficulty in Airolo. The ascent towards Gotthardpass (2’106 m) is pure bliss for road bikers. The downhill to Andermatt finishes todays cycling leg.
An easy ride through the gorge of Schöllenen starts todays tour. Now the pass Susten (2’260 m) awaits you. Both the uphill and the downhill are steep and winding.
In Innertkirchen you can choose wether you continue towards the car free pass "Grosse Scheidegg" (1’960 m) at the foot of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau or if you go the easy way along the shore of lake Brienz towards Interlaken.
Lake Brienz sparkles in rich-green colours while you cycle towards Meiringen. Here you start the long uphill towards the top of pass Grimsel (2’165 m). For more than 120 years this road connects the Lakes of the Bernese Oberland and the snow-white peaks of Valais.
You continue towards Furkapass (2’429 m) and cycle past the Rhône-glacier towards Andermatt.
